_________________________________________

ALMOST made the cut...

#7 Oklahoma at #21 Oklahoma State
(VERY rare that a Top 25 game doesn't make the slate, but with Pokes starting QB Sanders out with an injury and Boomer Sooner a 2 TD fav, had to leave BEDLAM off this weekend)

#17 Iowa at Nebraska
(Usually a nice lookin game, but underachieving Huskers will probably vomit all over themselves after Thanksgiving dinner)

Southern Mississippi at Florida Atlantic
(Big C-USA game on the NFL Network. Will Joey Freshwater be moving back to a higher profile job next season?)

Boston College at Pittsburgh
(Panthers played themselves out of Coastal contention down the stretch, but will get a decent bowl bid. Eagles must win to get bowl eligible.)

Georgia State at Georgia Southern
(Neither will catch App State in Sun Belt East, but both will go bowlin')

RYAN'S MAKE-UP GAME
(RB slept in late and missed making a play on NOON game, Tulane/Temple, in WEEK 12)

3:30 Nebraska at Maryland Big 10 + 4 Network

___________________________________

ALMOST made the cut...

Temple at #19 Cincinnati
(Tough game for Bearcats as they seek New Year's Six Bowl. Temple has been on the weekly slate too many times this year.)

Texas A&M at #4 Georgia
(Aggies have a nice 7-3 record, but Dawgs SHOULD get the W... BUUUUT...  about that South Carolina game.)

Boston College at #16 Notre Dame
(Eagles can stay in contention with their ground game, but Irish too good in front of Touchdown Jesus. HOWEVER, I would take BC and those 19 points... just sayin'.)

Oregon State at Washington State
(Boarder war betwixt two PAC 12 After Dark teams seeking bowl eligibility.)

UCLA at USC
(This game ain't what it used to be, but Chip Kelly has shown SOME improvement with Bruins as of late.)

Nebraska at Maryland
(Two teams that have vastly underachieved this season.)

ALMOST made the cut...

Michigan State at  #15 Michigan
(Reeling Sparticus has lost 4 straight, last time out to Illnois. Wolves favored by 2 TDs.)

Indiana at #9 Penn State
(Potentially sneaky good game as 7-2 Hoosiers try to prove they are for real. Fiery James Franklin has Nittany Lions ready after big L in Twin Cities last Saturday.)

#11 Florida at Missouri
(Gators only a TD favorite as Kelly Bryant and Mizzu try to become bowl eligible.)

Stanford at Washington State
(Two PAC 12 After Dark teams slugging it out for bowl eligibility in at matinee.)

USC at California
(Just another week closer to Urban Meyer for Trojans. Bears can get their bowl 6 pack with a W.)

Florida State at Boston College
(How will Noles respond after ousting of Willie Taggart? BC has been rollin up BIG numbers the last couple of weeks.)

Florida International at Florida Atlantic
(WHO could pass up a coaching battle betwixt Captain Butch and Joey Freshwater??? Too bad this game isn't on the moving picture box.)

Tennessee at Kentucky
(Two teams battling for their postseason... bowl eligible lives. Vols will spend holiday season at Rocky Top with another L.)

Wyoming at #22 Bosie State
(12.5 point spread in favor of the home standing Blue Carpet Broncos WAY too high for 6-2 Cowboys.)

AFTER FURTHER REVIEW: WEEK #8

WEEK #8

1. LSU (7-0)
Joe Burrow is the Gardner Minshew of 2019, seemingly coming out of nowhere to be a Heisman front runner. Tigers passing attack is epic, but the D is not quite what is has been in the past, but still formidable. Quality W's over Hook 'Em and Gator Nation give Bengals slight edge over Bama. Must be careful vs. Auburn in the Bayou, but return of Terrace Marshall helps LSU go to 8-0 before traveling to Bama in two weeks.

2. ALABAMA (7-0)
Tua's high ankle sprain is a little disconcerting, but Tide should breeze at home vs. Pig Suey. A bye weekend will serve Tua well before Bayou Bengals come a callin' on Nov. 9th.

3. OHIO STATE (7-0)
Justin Fields has been a touchdown maker this season and is in thick of the Heisman race. Schedule has been a little meh, but Bucks D coupled with dynamic O should get them to CFP. Wounded Badgers will have tOSU's full attention at THE Shoe this Saturday.

4. CLEMSON (7-0)
Hard to believe some are DISAPPOINTED in T-Law's QBing this season (expectations, expectations, expectations). Dabo's boyz are headed to another CFP. Should be able to beat BC comfortably in Tigertown this weekend.
_________________________________________________________________

5. Oklahoma (7-0)
Jalen Hurts continues to post big numbers, and the D is improved. With a quality W over Texas, you could make the argument Boomer Sooner should be #4. Must be careful at The Little Apple Saturday, but 8-0 almost a certainty.

6. Penn State  (7-0)
Give PSU the edge over Gator Nation after back-to-back Top 25 W's over Iowa and Michigan (however, head to head, I would bet on UF). Must be careful at Sparty this weekend, but if they play their "A game", should win comfortably.

7. Florida (7-1)
Ain't no shame in losin' at LSU.  Have a week off before "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party".

8. Georgia (6-1)
Dawgs lost their concentration a couple of weeks ago vs. Cocks, but still have one heckuva D. Also get the weekend off before WLOCP.

9. Notre Dame (5-1)
Irish get the slightest of edges over War Eagle. The return of stud RB Jafar Armstrong (out since season opener at UL) should be a BIG lift as ND traverses to the BIG House this weekend.

10. Auburn  (6-1)
AU coming to the Bayou this weekend after a demolishing of Pig Suey. Can War Eagle make a HUGE CFP statement with a W Saturday on CBS???

______________________________________

ALMOST made the cut...

#6 Penn State at Michigan State
(Lions are a 6.5 favorite... what a joke! PSU rolls over Sparty.)

#15 Texas at Texas Christian
(Hook 'Em only a TWO point fav over .500 Horned Frogs??? Don't fall for that...)

Arizona at Stanford
(Should be a close game, but these two teams are fraudulent in this PAC 12 After Dark afternoon match-up.)

Miami at Pittsburgh
(Another important Coastal Chaos game, but THE U can't be on the WEEK 8 slate after Yellow Jackets dropped them to 3-4 last weekend.)

California at #12 Utah
(Utah should be on upset alert, but most likely will get the W. That THREE touchdown line WAY to large in favor of Utes.)

ALMOST made the cut...

#1 Alabama at #24 Texas A&M
(There have been past years where Aggies have had a punchers chance to trip up Tide in College Station, but 2019 is NOT one of them. Just like WEEK 6, I hate to leave a Top 25 match-up off the slate, but this one is like fishin' with dynamite.)

Appalachian State at Louisiana
(HUGE game in the Sun Belt... might have made the WEEK 7 slate if not for it being on a WEDNESDAY!)

Louisville at Wake Forest
(Speaking of tASU, former head ball coach Scott Satterfield has Cards ahead of schedule in rebuilding process. Screamin Demon Deacons are due for an L, but will be too strong for UL at BB&T Stadium)

Iowa State at West Virginia
(IF I WERE a bettin man, I would take Mounties and that too large 10 point Cyclone spread in raucous Morgantown.)

Florida State at #2 Clemson
(This game really shouldn't be on ALMOST made the cut list, RIGHT??? NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND!!!! tFSU probably most talented team left on CU schedule. Tigers should get another W, but that TWENTY SEVEN point spread... Noles a sure bet to make it closer than THAT!!!)

WEEK 6: Saturday October 5th, 2019 COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHALLENGE (sponsored by America's favorite grocery store, WEGMAN'S)

Just something to think about...

There were more people at the grand opening of WEGMAN'S on Sunday (30K) than attend a Duke football game typically.

 WEEK 6:  Saturday, October 5th

12:00 #14 Iowa (4-0) at #19 Michigan (3-1) FOX

12:30 Boston College (3-2) at Louisville (2-2) ACC Network Extra

3:30 Air Force (3-1) at Navy (2-1) CBS Sports Network

4:00 Northwestern (1-3) at Nebraska (3-2) FOX

4:00 North Carolina (2-3) at Georgia Tech (1-3) ACC Network

8:00 Pittsburgh (3-2) at Duke (3-1) ACC Network

Chuck's MAKE-UP GAME:

Texas Christian (3-1) at Iowa State (2-2)

(Yours Truly inexplicably forgot to make a play on Clemson @ UNC last weekend... first time ever I believe I have forgot a game... LOL!!!)

NOTE: NC State has a much needed week off...

________________________________________

ALMOST made the cut...

TCU at Iowa State
(I would accept an argument that this game could have been on slate instead of BC-Lou)

#25 Michigan State at #4 THE Ohio State University
(I hate leaving a Top 25 game of the weekly slate, but we ALL know who is goin to win this one... RIGHT???)

California at #13 Oregon
(Tough choice between this one and Northwestern @ Nebraska. David S. Green knows that I'm not big on 1-3 teams on weekly slate, but NW might be best 1-3 team in country based on very difficult schedule. Cal proved themselves a Top 15 fraud last weekend. Ducks favored by almost 3 TDs.)

#11 Texas at West Virginia
(Hook 'Em is a 10 point fav in Morgantown, but must be VERY careful not to take Mounties lightly if they want to stay on the fringes of CFP race.)

#15 Washington at Stanford
(Trees have had a slow start and some injuries. U-Dub has inside track to Pasadena on first day of 2020... when we should all see clearly.)

#21 Oklahoma State at Texas Tech
(Could have been a fun game if Alan Bowman didn't have a bum shoulder for Red Raiders.)

 WEEK #5:  Friday, September 27th

7:00 Duke (2-1) at Virginia Tech (2-1) ESPN

10:30 Arizona State (3-1) at #15 California (4-0) ESPN

WEEK #5:  Saturday, September 28th
______________________________

3:30 Wake Forest (4-0) at Boston College (3-1) ACC Network

3:30 #18 Virginia (4-0) at #10 Notre Dame (2-1) NBC

3:30 #1 Clemson (4-0) at North Carolina (2-2) ABC

3:30 #21 USC (3-1) at #17 Washington (3-1) FOX

3:30 Iowa State (2-1) at Baylor (3-0) ESPN

3:30 Minnesota (3-0) at Purdue (1-2) ESPN2

5:00 Cincinnati (2-1) at Marshall (2-1) No TV thus far....

7:30 NC State (3-1) at Florida State (2-2) ACC Network

______________________________________

ALMOST made the cut...

Washington State at #19 Utah
(I actually kinda like this game, but Wazzu just gave up SIXTY-SEVEN to Chip Kelly's UCLA Bruins!!!)

#12 Penn State at Maryland
(Twerps just lost to Temple, but this could be a good game. 3 TGIF games would be WAY too much for any of us to handle, though.)

Kansas State at Oklahoma State
(Wildcats surprised me in Starkvegas... can they do the same in Stillwater? Boys from The Little Apple should be able to slow Pokes O a little bit, but tOSU gets W.)

Kentucky at South Carolina
(Should be a gritty battle in Columbia, but no 1-3 team deserves a spot on CFC slate. I can accept Purdue at 1-2... in case you were wondering.)

Georgia Tech at Temple
(Jackets brought disgrace to the #goacc family losing to THE Citadel in HOTlanta. Can they redeem themselves in Philly? I highly doubt it.)

___________________________________

ALMOST made the cut...

#16 Oregon at Stanford
(Stanford laid an egg vs. USC... will need to win this one to maintain pace in PAC-12.)

Western Michigan at Syracuse
(WMU is sneaky very good. DiVito needs to step it up at QB for Cuse at THE DOME.)

Kentucky at Mississippi State
(Both teams coming off of white knuckler L's last Saturday)

Colorado at #24 Arizona State
(For all the crap people give Herm Edwards, dude has Sun Devils 3-0 at the quarter mark of the season and in Top 25. Can tASU go 4-0???)

South Carolina at Missouri
(Two teams looking at mid-December bowls come holiday season... maybe.)

EVERYONE should check out Lamar "Action" Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens vs. Patrick "MVP" Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs at 1:00 Sunday on CBS... just sayin'.

7:30 Florida State (1-1) at #25 Virginia (2-0) ACC Network

10:30 Texas Tech (2-0) at Arizona (1-1) ESPN

______________________________________

ALMOST made the cut...

Stanford at #17 Central Florida
(Trees couldn't handle UBER-athletic Trojans last weekend. UCF very athletic as well.)

Kansas State at Mississippi State
(Couple of 2-0 teams that should go bowlin' this year. Starkvegas will be too much for the Wildcats from The Little Apple.)

Hawaii at #23 Washington
(Huskies are favored by THREE touchdowns. U-Dub SHOULD get the W, but underrated Rainbows are certain to cover. Possible upset alert here.)

Arizona State at #18 Michigan State
(Herm Edwards tries to stay undefeated, but boyz from East Lansing too much.)

#9 Florida at Kentucky
(Cats are undefeated and Gators are overrated, but another UK win over Gator Nation this decade is unlikely)

(Let down game for Eagles after big W over Hokies last weekend?)

Arkansas at Mississippi
(SEC not looking so hot from the middle down... it just means more.)

San Diego State at UCLA
(Will Chip Kelly be headed back to The National Football League soon???)

__________________________________

ALMOST made the cut...

James Madison at West Virginia
(Dukes have a new coach, as do Mounties. Definitely more competitive than Duke vs. Alabama... in the end... but couldn't take a Triangle Area team off the slate on WEEK #1. You are welcome for the free space.)

#3 Georgia at Vanderbilt
(SEC game on opening weekend. Dawgs should roll, but the menu this weekend is sparse.)

Missouri at Wyoming
(Kelly Bryant said yes to Mizzou, and NO to a championship ring from Dabo.)

Fresno State at USC
(Bulldogs a 2 TD dawg... would love to get one on the Trojans.)

Houston at #4 Oklahoma
(It will be VERY intriguing to see what Jalen Hurts can do with WIDE open Boomer Sooner offense.)
